The first of something
I made a promise the other day that i would start writing a blog entry every day, regardless of whether i have anything to say or not. I haven’t figured out any kind of editorial style, thought about any specific topics or decided what i want to do with it. As it stands, i’m easily distracted and whilst i made this promise to myself on monday, it’s now friday and i’ve just started. Regardless of my best intentions, I have been procrastinating. That’s the thing about the internet, it’s just so easy to be let down the rabbit whole only to wake up 5 days later and find yourself well off target.
For example, it started with the fact that I have a couple of domains and a couple of blogs and none of them are well utilised or maintained. So my first thought was that i should sit down and work out a way to consolidate my sites so that they’re easier to contain. Right. Sure. Before you know it i’ve bought another three domain names and i’m scrambling to set up the DNS and hosting issues so they have somewhere to reside. Add to the fact that i’ve spread myself even thinner, the domain names i’ve registered are purely driven by ego:
-
www.tietzel.tv (i already have .net)
www.hiredgoon.tv
www.kaintietzel.com
Absolutely and resolutely hubristic choices that serve no real purpose and have wasted the 5 days that i could have spent on my original plan to consolidate all my domains. Let’s face it - i’m an idiot. It’s not that I havent know it for quite some time, i guess theres nothing like three useless domains staring you in the face to make the point moot.
So, post one is done and i can get back to procrastinating.
